Dying Light

Dying Light is a open world first person survival horror video game developed by Techland and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

The game was released on January 27, 2015 in North America and January 28, 2015 in Europe and Australia.

Story

Kyle Crane, an undercover operative sent to infiltrate the quarantine zone in the historic Turkish city of Harran. He is under a mission to find Kadir "Rais" Suleiman, a political figure gone rogue who has a file that could destroy the reputation of his agency. But when he arrives, he must decide between completing his mission or helping the other survivors, who are being led by Harris Brecken.

Enemies

Biter / Night Walker (Day / Night)

Biters are victims of the Harran virus who have been symptomatic for a long period of time, resulting in significant degradation of their bodies resulting in major loss of movement speed and coordination. During the night, biters can occasionally spontaneously mutate into Night Walkers, gaining the ability to run and mantle up obstacles similar to Virals.

Viral

Virals are humans that have only very recently succumbed to the infection. As a result, their bodies still retain the physical strength needed for them to possess a high level of fitness and agility.

Goon

A physically large and strong infected that towers at roughly 8 feet tall, the goon carries a heavy rebar (typically a section of concrete with rebar acting as a handle) which it uses to smash into the ground and swing at the player. It can also use its left arm to bat the survivors away, which works as a secondary attack.

Gas Tank

Gas Tanks were initially part of a special cleanup unit that was sent into the city of Harran and were subsequently killed. Gas Tanks are just as slow as the Biters, however unlike other infected, Gas Tanks have red oxygen tanks on their back that can be set off when hit.

Bomber

This particular type of infected is noted for its exposed organs and its shambling jog. Its behavior is not unlike common infected, like Biters, but one major difference between it and them is that the bomber picks up speed and begins to convulse whenever non-infected humans are within proximity.

Toad

The Toad is an uncommon infected noted for its ability to fire green acidic phlegm that age to the player character with their attack in combination with the phlegm.

Screamer

Screamers are infected children whose screams disorient the player's vision and renders them unable to fight, as well as drawing in numerous other infected. The player will also continuously take low but progressive amounts of damage if within its screaming range.

Demolisher

The Demolisher is one of the largest infected types encountered by the player. Its strengths lies in its ability to break down walls and lift and toss vehicles across far distances. When a demolisher spots the player, it will charge them. However, the demolisher is quite slow and can be easily avoided prior to its charge.

Bolter (Night)

The Bolter is an uncommon infected that is noted for being the only infected that doesn't attack the player character, but rather flees when the player is near it. It is also noted for having green lumps covered on its body that glow.

Volatile (Night)

Most infected can be easily killed when encountered by player, however, this is not the case with Volatiles, and the player's best option is to run when spotted to the nearest safehouse, as Volatiles are able to take several hits from high powered weapons and cause significant amounts of damage quickly.

Night Hunter (Be The Zombie)

A fearsome predator who watches over nests of incubating Volatiles. As the ultimate zombie, the Night Hunter has super-human skills, which offer an edge over survivors in the quarantine.

Rais's Men

Rais's Men is a group of hostile survivors who appear in Dying Light. Served under Rais's control, they can be found on patrol, raiding Airdrops, attacking hostages, or transporting prisoners throughout Harran.
